We made this photo in August of 1983 in front of the Dischord House where Minor Threat band members Ian MacKaye and Jeff Nelson lived and ran their record Dischord label. It was a group house that a few other rotating residents and many band guests as well as myself stayed, when ever I went down for a visit or to see shows, over the years. The record company was originally run out of a little side room off the kitchen, bands would sometimes practice in the basement. The porch just across the street from the convenience store was always a good hang, if not inside the living/dining area. This was probably the last time the band posed for a group portrait with me before they split for the final time just a few months later. This photo appeared on their last 7” single “Salad Days” and was used in the center spread of the CD release of the Minor Threat complete discography. It seems to have resonated well for people around the world for one reason or another.

As a summer special we are going to be making a limited edition poster/print of this photograph for collectors.

It will be available for two weeks only. This limited release GICLEE print is printed on exceptional ‘Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta a-Cellulose Bright White High Gloss archival paper’ HEAVY 325 gsm (16.5’’ x 23.5’’ / slightly smaller than an A2 print).

All sales of these and the previous poster prints fund the Burning Flags Tour. Our first exhibition was an incredible success because it inspired everyone who came through, fans new and old. Entry was 100% free thanks to the previous poster sales and our supporters.

The exhibition expenses were much more than anticipated so we are doing this “summer special” while working on the next European Exhibitions to make them happen equally as impressive and inspiring if not more.

This New High quality poster print, will be sold for the first time ever, and unlike the others limited to only 500 of each, this print will be limited for sale only for two weeks.

The sales will directly fund the photography exhibitions in cities around the world.

Following on from our successful exhibition in Barcelona last month and with ATP in London in 2014 / 2015, we plan to once again join forces for this worldwide project with the same DIY ethic as the MY RULES, Covent Garden full building exhibition. Plans for the exhibition to travel to further to Paris, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Tokyo, Melbourne, Rome, Los Angeles and New York City are already in the works and timing depends on funding we get from these sales. Crowd sourcing revenue to make these happen keeps the integrity of the show at a premium.

Each supporter who purchases a print will be contacted as each show is confirmed and will be invited to attend any pre-opening night, showing. Glen Friedman will be attending these special openings and can personalise any prints or books that people have purchased.
